Our client is looking to recruit an Assistant Fleet Underwriter to join their team.
Duties:
  • Profitably underwrite, on a case-by-case basis, bespoke commercial lines risks within our clients underwriting criteria.
  • Underwrite within the company strategy and authority limits and refer all cases outside of strategy or individual limits.
  • Develop and maintain mutually beneficial relationships with colleagues and national brokers & undertake external visits, training, review meetings and social events when required.
  • Maintain and endeavour to exceed, agreed service levels to both internal and external customers.
  • To prospect and actively contribute to the growth targets of the team optimising sales and retention.
  • Maintain an accurate audit trail using systems, practices and procedures.
Maintain an up to date knowledge of:
  • The commercial lines market
  • The broking marketplace
  • Legislation and litigation which could affect the writing of business
  • Participate in, and undertake any ad-hoc tasks, that may be requested to ensure the smooth running of the National Underwriting Centre and commercial business.

Qualifications Cert CII or progressing towards.
Experience and knowledge
  • Good Relationship Management
  • Experience in underwriting fleet insurance
  • The ability to demonstrate meeting & exceeding personal and team objectives
  • An awareness of the market and legal/industry developments
