The role of Compliance & Total Quality Manager is to manage and promote company-wide trade compliance initiatives as well as introducing and the on-going management of their Quality Management System, including ISO9001.

Working closely with the senior leadership team to understand and develop corporate objectives, the role will be to translate these into appropriate company initiatives and ensure that their operations and processes comply with the relevant trade (import/export requirements, etc.) laws and regulations. As Compliance & Total Quality Manager the role will also see you develop, maintain and implement the company's international trade compliance policies, and will work with the team to implement business controls, coordinate training needs as well as monitor and ensure adherence to policies and guidelines.

Your other responsibilities will include:
  • Define the scope of compliance requirements in the areas of commercial compliance, trade compliance and corporate governance.
  • Manage and educate businesses on evolving requirements in a rapidly changing commercial and legal landscape.
  • Identify compliance process gaps, understand criticality of gap and build a roadmap for improving compliance controls.
  • Drive implementation of policies and instructions through monitoring, self-assessments and periodic audits.
  • Ensure quality training and support is provided for both internal and external customers to ensure all staff are able to identify potential risks

  • Relevant graduate level qualification or Customs brokerage qualification or equivalent through a minimum of five years of relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated previous experience designing and implementing TQM systems
  • Compliance experience at management level.
  • Experience with; Harmonised Tariff Schedules, Customs Valuation, Origin Determination, Supply Chain security programs, Export Controls.
  • Experience negotiating with government agencies / departments
  • Knowledge of Duty calculation, VAT and Drawback
