We are working on behalf of a mainstream West London based primary school to find a Teaching Assistant to work with some friendly children who struggle to access the curriculum without additional support. The role is to start ASAP or in September. Either way this is a full time role at a welcoming school. The role is to support a student with Downs Syndrome in year 2 and also work with other students on occasions with learning difficulties. This would be the perfect stepping stone for someone looking to train as a therapist, or even a class teacher in the future. You will be working with smaller groups or 1:1, graduates are advised to apply for this role because we can provide training and the perfect platform to progress.

Teaching Assistant Requirements:
  • Must be educated to degree level
  • Have an interest or experience in working with children with special educational needs
  • Prefer to work 1:1 and smaller groups instead of a full class of 30!
  • Have a strong academic background in English and Mathematics
  • Be a positive role model for the pupils
  • Work effectively in a team - really important when working at a school
  • Believe in high expectations and be committed to seeing that every child reaches their full potential.
  • Be a good team player and a fun, outgoing personality
  • Be able to inspire learning in and beyond the classroom.

The role:

The Teaching Assistant will work with class teams to provide targeted support for individual pupils with special educational needs. They will help to deliver a differentiated curriculum and targeted interventions to ensure that pupils make outstanding progress in their education, health and care outcomes.
