Contek are working with a high precision engineering company in Norfolk who are currently seeking a CNC Mill/Turn Machinist or a Milling Machinist, reporting to the Production Manager. For either role, they are looking for candidates who are preferably apprentice trained, but at the very least who are able to demonstrate relevant experience. Specific knowledge of Mazak (Mazatrol) and Hurco (Winmax) machines is desirable, but not essential. What is more important is the desire and aptitude to be trained to utilise these machines, preferably in a programming / setting / operating mode, but at the very least in a setting / operating mode. This is a long term role for a rapidly expanding company who have a fantastic future and exciting prospects. They have been in existence for 40 years, and specialise in the sub contract manufacturer of high precision metal and plastic components. These are used in high end applications for markets as diverse as scientific instruments, specialist automotive, aerospace, and defense, to name but a few.
Their reputation has been built on the quality of the parts they make and their ability to meet stringent delivery targets. They also manufacture to KanBan stock control, undertake precision cleaning of parts in a fully kitted clean room, and conduct sub assembly build. In terms of quality, their management system is approved to ISO(Apply online only).
Main Duties:
* Reading, understanding and working to the supplied engineering drawings in order to ensure that parts are made within stated tolerances and surface finish.
* Programming (preferably), Setting and Operating CNC Mill/Turn machines using Mazatrol controls, or similar for Hurco mills with Winmax controls.
* Responsibility for checking own quality (in conjunction with coordinate measuring machine operated by Inspection team).
* Working to tight schedules in order to achieve committed delivery dates.
Core working hours are 8:00am to 4:30pm, Monday to Friday, with the opportunity for overtime based on operational needs.
The company believes in paying a wage rate based on the commitment and success shown in the role, and this will be discussed during the interview stage.
My client is looking for a team player with the desire and initiative to grow with the company, and to be involved with improvement opportunities. They are looking to fill this role as soon as possible, so if you fit the above criteria and have the experience required, then please email your CV together with a covering letter (partially completed CV's will not be accepted).
We look forward to hearing from you with the prospective candidate details
