I am working with a dynamic, high quality and financially robust FE College who are seeking an MIS Director individual who has extensive experience at Director level in the area of MIS, Planning and Funding in the FE sector or an aspiring MIS Manager who has the potential for career progression. You will already have a portfolio of education-based software applications and you will be effective in conversing with senior leaders and curriculum teams to provide reports and data which ensure timely responsiveness to the college's performance.

Main Purpose of this MIS Director role: To provide leadership and management of the MIS and Exams teams and ensure the delivery of timely, accurate and business critical management information and reporting. The post-holder will be a member of the College Senior Leadership Team (SLT) and will work closely with the College Executive Leadership Team (ELT) Key Duties and Responsibilities:

(1) Provide strong, positive and inspirational leadership at Senior Management Team (SLT) level to promote quality improvement in response to feedback from learners, parents, partners, employers, staff, inspectors and accrediting bodies on the quality of services.

(2) Provide clear day-to-day leadership in the development and delivery of the MIS, Planning and Funding and Examinations function in line with the standards and expectations required throughout the College and ensure this is equitable across all sites

(3) Undertake a strong and supportive line management function including performance management, individual and team development in line with the College's Human Resources Policies and Procedures.

(4) Ensure full data protection compliance in conjunction with the Director of Organisational Development.

(5) Ensure college policies are developed, reviewed and implemented in line with the legislative framework, AoC guidelines and educational standards (e.g. Ofsted).

(6) Ensure all College databases and electronic information is fully secure, backed up and complies with Data Protection Legislation as appropriate

(7) Ensure that performance data is timely, accurate, sufficient, user-friendly, appropriate and used effectively by managers in target setting and monitoring in conjunction with the Vice Principals and the Directors.

(8) Establish a common suite of reports available through a user friendly single source in liaison with ELT and SLT. These should be equally accessible across all sites and appropriate staff trained to use the reports

(9) Ensure a robust approach to operational planning and self-assessment to support the successful achievement of the College's strategic objectives.

(10) Responsibility for all student data and funding returns to relevant funding bodies and other external stakeholders (particularly EFA and SFA) as required within the timescales specified.

(11) Advise and steer curriculum planning to maximise success rates and income.

(12) Work with the Director of Organisational Development to ensure appropriate management information is available concerning staff utilisation and staff requirements in relation to the curriculum plan

(13) Work with the Director of Finance to ensure that curriculum planning and delivery is supported by a robust budget and financial information

(14) Manage and develop a range of management information systems to support planning and evaluation processes.

(15) Foster and maintain good working relations with the relevant funding and exam/awarding bodies.

(16) Manage the production of timely and accurate funding and performance returns for both internal use and for various external funding bodies.

(17) Manage the preparation of annual and monthly management reports on funding, planning and learner success rates to advise the Executive Team and Governing Body.

(18) Liaise with other managers to support performance monitoring, business planning and budget setting.

(19) Prepare for and work with internal and external auditors.

(20) Oversee MIS software upgrades and integrity of the MIS database platform by close liaison with the Information Services Manager.

(21) Obtain management information for data comparison, validation and the provision of data to populate the college benchmarking environment.

(22) Produce regular reports for Governors, ELT, SLT and CLT to meet deadlines for benchmarking, retention, achievement and funding targets progress tracking.

(23) Develop reporting frameworks which quickly and timely identify weaknesses in the quality and completeness of data collection, with particular reference to audit recommendations.

(24) Optimise the quality of the MIS and Examination Services through continuous assessment and quality improvement.

(25) Organise and manage all exams and ensure that each complies with the requirements of the appropriate awarding body

(26) Ensure that staff and students are aware of timings and requirements of each appropriate exam

(27) Manage delegated resources effectively to achieve best value by managing the risk/ responsibility for all income and expenditure and identifying new income streams.

(28) Network across the UK to seek out outstanding and sector leading practice that will ensure the College is at the forefront of innovation and development.

(29) Recognise, celebrate and share best practice across the College to ensure all curriculum and functional areas operate to a consistently outstanding level. 4

(30) Represent the College externally and develop appropriate business relationships with other organisations and represent the College on regional and national bodies.

(31) Represent the College on School and/or Trust Governing Bodies.

(32) Carry out duty manager responsibilities on a rota as part of the duty team
