About the Role

The Marketing & BD team helps promote the services of Royds Withy King to new and existing clients through a broad range of marketing activities, including client communications, website, social media, events, PR & media relations, & CRM management. This is a busy, friendly, close-knit team who all work well together. They have good communication with each other and the wider firm, support each other and are committed to adding value through innovation and creativity.

We are recruiting a Marketing Assistant on a fixed term contract to provide efficient and effective administrative and operational marketing support to our business-focussed legal teams and sector groups, including Real Estate, Retail, Leisure & Hospitality, TMT, Life Sciences, Financial Services and Charities.

Responsibilities will include:

* Helping to plan, co-ordinate, deliver and evaluate events and other marketing campaigns in accordance with agreed firm-wide, business unit and sector goals; you will be required to attend events and provide hands-on support outside of normal office hours

* Event and campaign administration

* Use the CRM system to update and produce lists for mailings and events as well as to generate and monitor campaigns

* Assist with other routine tasks relating to the CRM system and marketing administration, as required

* Create and amend marketing collateral - both print and online literature and materials - using InDesign, Photoshop, PowerPoint and Microsoft Word; these might include invitations, team sheets and leaflets

* Support the team with any tenders and bid work

* Provide database, admin and systems support for client correspondence, blogs and communications project rotas

* Proof-read, edit and upload content to the website including blogs, press releases, photos and staff profiles

* Copywriting, for example in relation to blogs, literature and press releases

* Contribute and share content on social media

* Support and assist in the legal directory submission process

* Assist with keeping intranet content up to date

The role is based in Bath but will require travel to the firm's Swindon, Oxford and London offices from time to time. It will also occasionally require working outside of normal office hours, for example when travelling or to support events.

About You

Knowledge and skills required:


CIM qualification and/or relevant degree


Experience of working in a marketing role - and ideally in a professional services or business-to-business environment


Knowledge of CRM, event planning, administration and branding principles


Social media experience - particularly Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram


Excellent communication both written and verbal; comfortable communicating with fee-earners at all levels; great attention to detail and proof-reading skills


Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise effectively, working autonomously as well as part of a team


Good working knowledge of InDesign, Photoshop and PowerPoint


Familiarity of using Word Press or similar CMS


Ability to work under own initiative

The successful applicant will be subject to pre-employment screening including a DBS (Criminal Background) check.
