REED Finance is working exclusively with Kaleidoscope Plus Group to recruit a Finance Manager. This is a newly created appointment reporting directly into the Chief Executive and will be integral to the development of the organisation.

Have responsibility for the day to day running and management of the finance department and the finance team

Develop and maintain excellent working relationships between finance and non-finance departments and staff, in addition to lead in developing working relationships between external stakeholders

  • Operational management of the finance department (3 in total)
  • Accounting and finance systems management
  • Annual Financial Statements and external audit process
  • Monthly management accounts and budget holder reviews
  • Operational Cash Flow, Treasury and Banking Management
  • Annual budget planning and preparation
  • Internal Audit review, including financial process and procedures
  • New business implementation and management
  • Undertake any other duties and responsibilities as may reasonably be required within the scope of the post.

Financial services management
  • Ensure all finance related systems and software use is maximised as far as possible and robust procedures are developed and implemented which protects the organisation's assets and minimises resource intensity
  • Ensure payroll is processed on a timely basis
  • Ensure all Debtors including Sundry and Rent are raised in a timely manner, and a robust credit control process is implemented on a regular basis.

Internal Audit / Financial Procedures
  • Provide relevant support to finance staff and non-finance staff across the organisation to implement financial procedures
  • Carry out regular reviews of the financial and accounting procedures to ensure that the efficiency of the Finance function
  • Ensure financial procedures are developed and implemented which are reflective of the organisation's operating structures
  • Ensure financial procedures are easily accessible toall staff

Finance Systems
  • Ensure all finance systems are operating to their full potential with Provider updates being implemented upon receipt.
  • Ensure that all relevant financial software packages provide an efficient and effective finance service and support to stakeholders.
  • Ensure all finance data held electronically and manual records are maintained in accordance with Data Protection
  • Ensure the integrity of all financial data is protected at all times by
  • Ensure that all financial documents are retained appropriately in line with compliance regulations

Annual Financial Statements
  • Prepare the group's statutory financial statements, including liaising with the auditors as and when required
  • Ensure compliance andaddressany weaknesses.
  • Prepare the first draft Annual Financial Statements and first draft External Audit supporting working papers
  • Prepare and implement the finance team's annual audit work plans

Budgets & Management Accounts
  • Lead in the preparation of the annual group budgets and short, medium and long term financial forecasting.
  • Ensure all management accounts and any ad-hoc financial data is prepared for budget holders toa strict timetable
  • Ensure budget holders queries are addressed and resolved in a timely manner, systems and control accounts are reconciled on a regular basis

Recognised Accountancy Qualification (ACA/ACCA/CIMA)

Previous experience in a charity would be advantageous.
