Farleigh Further Education College Frome is an independent specialist residential college for young people aged 16 to 25 with autistic spectrum disorders, Asperger's syndrome and associated complex needs including behavioural difficulties.

The college has eight residential houses in the community each with its own identity, working ethos and dedicated team of staff. This provides learners with the opportunity to experience independent living in a range of different settings.

We aim to provide every young person with an individually tailored programme of education, care, work experience, leisure and life skills and training within the community, to enable them to live as independently as possible.

Our dedicated team of staff create a safe, secure and independent living environment where our learners have a sense of belonging within their group and a sense of ownership of their home. Our approach enables young people to develop the confidence and skills they need to progress towards adulthood, including further or higher education and sustainable independent living in the community.

We are seeking to appoint a Sports/PE Tutor.

Delivering a range of qualifications from foundation to level 3, this is an exciting opportunity for a candidate with a passion for sport and fitness to develop a dynamic role within our Education Team.

With both an educational and pastoral remit, this role will focus on sports and well being. We are looking for a candidate that is open to creating a varied offer, which may include outdoor pursuits and extra curricular activities.

Candidates should have excellent communication skills and an ability to build an authentic rapport with young people. Our Sports Tutor will play a key part in encouraging our young people to develop healthy lifestyles and build self confidence, so it is essential that you are able to inspire and be a role model for our students.

With a student centred approach, we are committed to providing a safe and nurturing environment within which young people can flourish.

Candidates should have a passion and commitment for providing creative and high quality learning experiences. With a dynamic and inclusive approach you will have high expectations for our learners and a drive to help them achieve the best possible learning outcomes.

You will have an empathic approach and the ability to be flexible and adapt to individual needs.

This role will be based at our newly refurbished college in the heart of Frome town centre. You will be required to work offsite on occasion accessing sports activities with young people.

Applicants should be qualified to deliver PE/Sports to level 3. Experience of coaching in a variety of sports including Outdoor Pursuits or experience of running a Duke of Edinburgh programme would be desirable.
