We have an exciting opportunity for a Financial Accountant to join our client's dynamic and friendly finance team at their prestigious office and factory complex in Scunthorpe. We are looking for a Financial Accountant, preferably from a manufacturing background, who can "hit the ground running", even better if you have a working knowledge of SAP.

As the Financial Accountant, reporting directly to the Financial Controller, you will focus on driving the effectiveness of the business's financial reporting and control.

The Financial Accountant will also be responsible for providing accurate, timely and high-quality reports such as monthly management accounts, weekly KPI's, cash flow forecasts and cash positioning.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a QBE, finalist or fully qualified accountant (AAT) to join an ever growing and forward-thinking business who take great pride in their employees and their personal development. We are seeking a positive minded energetic self-starter, with a passion for accounting perfection, who as well as working as part of a helpful and approachable team, has the ability to work on their own to strict deadlines.

Join this great organisation and enjoy free parking, heavily subsidised canteen as well as a purpose build gym for use by staff and family (free!!).

Key Accountabilities - Financial Accountant:
  • Preparation of monthly management accounts to Trial Balance stage to the group's reporting timeframes.
  • Preparation of key management reports weekly for manufacturing and productivity KPI's.

  • Full responsibility for transactional accounts accruals and prepayments
  • Oversee fixed asset register ensuring all assets are correctly recorded.
  • Reporting on stock held in the manufacturing departments.
  • Complete a full balance sheet reconciliation review each month, ensuring integrity of data is correct and anomalies are investigated and reported accordingly.
  • Responsible for VAT returns, ECSL returns and NSO returns, ensuring that all statutory deadlines are met.
  • Proactively manage personal development, in order to increase performance levels and provide opportunities for career development.

  • A strong financial management and accounting background.
  • Experience to a finalist or qualified accountant level or QBE equivalent.
  • Ability to work in a highly results oriented and performance driven environment with a focus on excellence.
  • Excellent working knowledge of Excel.
  • Desirable to have knowledge of SAP B1 ERP system.
  • Ambitious, highly driven and motivated.
  • High intellect with first class commercial intuition and a creative approach to problem solving.
  • A positive, self-reliant, open-minded and enthusiastic attitude.
  • The ability to work both as part of the team and under your own initiative with minimum supervision.
