Food and Beverage Assistant

Hours - 45 hours per week 5 out of 7 days

Role Purpose:

Under the direction of the Restaurant Manager and Bar Supervisor, to deliver a quality food and beverage service to guests and customers along with fellow staff over a seven day week operation.

Key Responsibilities:

* Able to work in all areas of Food & Beverage including Bar, Restaurant, Room Service and Conference & Events

* Welcome guests in a polite and friendly manner

* Take and deliver customer orders, consistently demonstrating high levels of customer service

* Prepare set ups for tables and/or rooms

* Follow cash handling procedures

* Manage guest queries in a timely and efficient manner

* Up-sell with latest departmental incentives

* Ensure compliance of brand standards

* Strive to achieve departmental targets

* Ensure cleanliness of work areas

* Comply with hotel security, fire regulations and all health and safety legislation

* Comply with local licensing laws

* Be environmentally aware

* Assist other departments wherever necessary and maintain good working relationships

* To adhere to Company processes with regard to Data Protection, Financial Crime and Treating Customers Fairly;

Essential Skills:

* Able to work to agreed departmental standards

* Well presented & flexible attitude

* Customer focused and polite manner

* Experience of working within a team

* Numerate and familiar with cash, stock rotation & control procedures

Desirable Skills:

* Experience of working in a quality bar operation / catering environment

* Experience in promotions and increasing sales

* Basic food hygiene certificate

* Food service qualification

* A beverage qualification or in-house training certificate

* Working knowledge of cellar procedures
