SG Technologies is a specialist manufacturer of precision magnetic components and assemblies to some of the world's most prestigious automotive and consumer product brands. From our base in Rainham, in the London Borough of Havering East London, we employ over 200 staff and produce up towards 100 million parts a year, almost all of which are exported. We are currently going through a major period of growth.
We are seeking to recruit an experienced, qualified, or nearly qualified accountant who will support the Group's Finance Director on a permanent basis with a range of day to day financial and management accounting activities.
Overview and scope of job role:
• Consolidation of Group Accounts
• Review of subsidiary accounts
• Intercompany Reconciliations
• Cash flow review & forecasting
• Some system administration
• Fixed Assets & CAPEX review
• HMRC filings
• German VAT preparation
• Tax Return Assistance
• Taking a lead on budgets & forecasts preparation
• Compilation of statutory accounts
• Annual R&D Tax Returns
• Variance and other ad-hoc analysis
• System & Process Improvements, particularly internal controls.
• Liaising with audit teams
• Other activities as/when required
Essential skills and experience
• Qualified or nearly qualified accountant, preferably in a manufacturing or engineering business
• Practical experience in a similar role, particularly in consolidation of group accounts
• Ability to demonstrate strong organisational skills and attention to detail
• Proficient excel skills - able to comfortably use lookups, sums, ifs and pivots
• Proven ability to pick up new systems quickly
• Be keen to take ownership and responsibility for your work
• Have an inquisitive, confident nature, keen to understand the whole picture.
The offer:
• A permanent contract (subject to a successful probationary period)
• Full time 37.5 hour week - Monday to Friday 8.30am - 5pm, Friday 8.30am - 2.30pm; 25 days annual holiday (pro-rata)

• Competitive salary commensurate with the experience and abilities of the successful candidate in the range of £35k - £45k per annum.
