£45-50k + bonus + benefits

My client is a fast paced business, and due to continued growth are looking to recruit a Senior Buyer. This is a newly created role to focus on supplier relationship building and maximising profitability. The role will source a range of products / categories, negotiate with suppliers and improve margin by ensuring selling prices are maximised through strong proactive internal communication / stakeholder management.

*Negotiate best prices and favourable terms through the procurement of selected products to achieve profit, whilst maintaining quality for the customers
*Issue RFQs to suppliers and negotiating pricing and commercial terms
*Research new products and services to meet requirements as they arise
*Work with the Sales team to manage and action enquiries from existing clients and source new business and product.
*Take ownership and daily review of levels for all products in the portfolio (limiting stock holding, minimise stock markdowns etc); whilst ensuring 100% availability and maximising cash flow at all times
*Ensure fulfilment of orders by providing and managing contingency supply sources
*Develop the product category and strategy to create a competitive core range of products
*Deliver and report against performance/agreed targets/KPI's/budgets
*Develop, negotiate and manage all contracts and supplier agreements for the category
*Where appropriate, create joint business plans to include promotional plans, target turnover and supplier income
*Maintain accurate records of all agreements and transactions, ensuring departmental systems and procedures are adhered to

*You'll have a real passion for Food and Drink, and a strong understanding of the FMCG market
*Proven experience in a fast-paced procurement/contract management/sourcing/supplier relationship environment
*Strong negotiating / influencing skills and have excellent communication / interpersonal skills
*Used to working to budget and time constraints
*People management experience
*Excellent level of numeracy and financial analysis
*Confidence to work independently, ensuring you meet deadlines and deliver agreed targets
*Ability to work under pressure, to tight deadlines, with a collaborate approach to team working
