Smart Recruitment is proud to represent a global leader in the provision of highly specialised parts for the marine, industrial and rail industries. Due to internal moves, they require a skilled Account Manager / Business Developer to help maintain and deepen existing OEM customer relationships & provide them with first class sales account management service

The position is based at the company's Somerset site in the UK, but will require significant travel, mainly in Western Europe & Scandinavia, and you should expect 50% of your time to be spent away from home visiting customers, the rest in the company's South Somerset office location

It will be necessary for applicants to have a good knowledge base in mechanical engineering, so that they can understand the products and the market potential. This knowledge may be from further educational studies or from previous work experience with a technical product.

You will need to have a demonstrable proven successful track record of a similar role, selling a technical product.

You will need the ability to build strong business relationships, based on a good understanding of customer needs and a professional, positive approach. You will also need to have a sound understanding of sales business processes within a quality management system such as RFQ, PPAP etc combined with a good working knowledge of contract terms and conditions
