Reed Online are looking for a Sales Team Leader to lead their established Courses sales team based in Holborn, London.

Overview

A Team leader is an intermediate management level position within the sales team. You are responsible for the day to day leadership and management of a sales team of 2-6 people. For courses, it is management of the new business team. You are responsible for the implementation and development of strategy, coaching, targeting and motivation of the sales team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Recruitment - it is the responsibility of a team leader to recruit their team, and maintain headcount. Staff retention and reducing turnover is in part down to Team Leaders in the recruitment process and management style.
  • Training - once a new starter joins the team it is the Team Leaders responsibility to oversee and reinforce the training received. How quickly a new recruit gets on the phone and starts selling and achieving target is down to the training they receive.
  • Coaching - ongoing training and coaching is a fundamental part of anyone's career at reed, and this is all implemented by the Team Leader. Scoring DNA sheets and continuous improvement of the sales team is down to the Team Leader.
  • Strategy - Improving the performance of your team over time and adapting to changes internally and within the market are key skills of an effective team leader. Coming up with strategy and coaching it out to the team is an ongoing feature of the role.
  • Motivation - keeping the team motivated to overachieve when things are going well, and maintaining positivity when they are not going well.
  • Performance management and discipline - managing performance, attendance and behaviour is fundamental to a successful team. If any of these are not being met to business standards, it is up to the Team Leader to manage these processes, and involve HR if necessary. As a Team Leader you may also be asked to adjudicate formal HR meetings for other teams.
  • Team welfare -you need to make sure your team is delivering what the business expects from each individual, but you also are responsible for the reports you manage to ensure they are getting the support and care they need from the business.
