PROCESS ENGINEER - Permanent - Wrexham - A week per month travel to US and China - salary dependent on experience

The manufacturing process engineer leads the development and organization of production operations. They develop a successful workflow, adapt to changing conditions, and develop new equipment, procedures, and policies to increase efficiency in production of goods. They are also directly involved in Quality control and costs of finished product.

Reports into Deputy Head Of Global Product Development


·Determine the best procedure for converting materials

·Compiles and writes testing, inspection and evaluation methods and implementation, to maintain quality control, efficiency and costs.

·Maintains the quality requirements and standards documents.

oHI docs (how to instructions)

oFM docs (forms) testing QA

oInspection reports

oEvaluation reports (FAIR)

oCAR docs (corrective action reports)

·Compiles and writes training material and conducts training sessions on quality control and efficiency activities.

·Inspects factories

oQuality issues

oMethods and process capabilities and standards

oCapacity shortages

oEvaluating plant safety and environmental impact

·Obtaining and maintaining certifications and records of products.

oUL listing

oMaterial Safety Data Sheets (MSDS)

oCE Certification

oInspections managing

oMaintain document control of all certifications and records

·Maintain FTP site for updated revisions of product design and specification documents.

·Coordinates with QC lead to direct workers engaged in measuring, testing, documenting data concerning materials, products and processes.

·Collects first run approved project boxes for archival storage and retrieval.

·Coordinates with design team for all Engineers Change Request and is part of approval process.

·Takes ownership of all launched product failures or customer complaints

oEvaluate problem and recommend to engineering team with suggestions. Corroborate with engineering, supply chain, and product managers to resolve problems.

oAssist (Design Team) on solution and implementation of corrective action.

oWrite response to customer, accompanied with data and test reports.


·Excellent communication skills with people across the manufacturing process

·Manage people well and effectively

·Extremely detail oriented.

·Ability to work in a cross functional team environment. (marketing, finance, operations, design)

·Great computer skills with Microsoft Suite, CAD viewers, ability to learn proprietary apps.

·Read mechanical drawings and specs.

·Ability to travel abroad. (Europe, north America, China)

·Time management for self and team

·Ability to present proposals to end-users of technology, equipment, tools and fixtures to achieve user acceptance.

·Ability to identify systemic issues and create procedural solutions to improve efficiency.

·Critical thinking

·Technical skills and experience with

oPlastic injection molds function and design and equipment.

oMetal casting tooling function and design and equipment.

oExtrusion tooling function and design and equipment.

oSheet metal benders, nibblers and punches processes

oUnderstands how to calibration and preventative maintenance.

oMaterial specs and technology





oElectronic product design - basic small motor control, board design, component familiarity, knowledge of AC and DC designs.
