Purchase Ledger Clerk

Part Time (20 hours)

We are currently recruiting a Part Time Purchase Ledger Clerk for an Educational business based in Harrogate. You will work closley with this small firendly accounts team In this role you will work closely with the current Accounts team in this busy finance department, building relationships with suppliers and reporting to the Director of Finance.

As Purchase Ledger Clerk you will be accountable for the whole purchase ledger process, from initial purchase orders through to invoices and reconciliation. You will provide an integral service to the current finance team, ensuring a sound and stable system is maintained through accurate and effective processes. You will be the first point of contact for any enquiries and will be required to build and maintain strong working relationships with the finance team, staff, and suppliers. This is a part time role, working 20 hours per week, working 9am-1pm Monday to Friday, however there is flexibility on these working hours for the right candidate. The salary for this role is £20,000 pro rata.

Responsibilities:

* Receiving, checking and coding invoices

* Data entry on to the system

* Filing invoices accurately

* Reconciliation of supplier statements and credit card statements

* Ordering items for staff and processing staff expenses

* Making payments via bank transfer, BACS and cheques

* Banking

* Bank Reconciliations

* Setting up new supplier accounts and maintaining existing account details

* Building and maintaining sound working relationships with both customers and suppliers

* Reviewing current processes and making improvements where necessary

* Being the first point of contact for all relevant enquiries

Requirements:

* Previous experience

* Excellent numeracy skills

* Excellent organisational skills

* Good computer skills with experience in Microsoft Office packages and BACS

* A keen eye for detail with excellent problem solving skills

* Good customer service skills

* Excellent communication skills and able to work as part of a team

* The ability to work to tight deadlines, working efficiently and pro actively

* Professionalism and discretion when dealing with sensitive & confidential data
