Construction Building Manager

This company requires a Construction Building Manager to join their expanding senior management team. This role will oversee their growing portfolio of New Build Developments and will offer variety and the ability to influence a large programme of work.

Who are they?

They are a well-accredited building contractor responsible for award winning work across their many sites in the region.

Their company is currently on course to build over 200 new build units in 2019, rising to 350 units in 2020 with plans for further growth into sites across the North West and Yorkshire.

Role Responsibilities

They are looking for an experienced Construction Building Manager to join and lead their team of site managers by:

Programme Planning & Compliance
- Planning projects to the necessary level of detail for the site team to delivery the scheme without delays
- Liaising closely with the Senior Construction Materials Buyer regarding the timely procurement of materials
- Ensuring the correct and timely engagement with all subcontractors
- Compiling and delivering progress reports

Health & Safety
- Planning, monitoring and critiquing the Health & Safety performance of sites
- Working with Site Managers to ensure all necessary plans are in place and Health & Safety responsibilities are understood by site personnel
- Ensuring compliance with company procedures and HSE regulations

- Establishing a benchmark for quality and ensuring it is achieved through ensuring best practice is consistently implemented across sites
- Putting processes in place to ensure the monitoring and control of quality
- Acting as an escalation point for risks and issues concerning quality
- Ensuring that site managers and their teams comply with all the company quality policies

Customer Relations
- Ensuring that sites have minimal negative community impact
- Monitoring customer satisfaction

What they want from you

They are looking for the following skills, qualities and qualifications in applicants for this role:
- Experience of multi-site management at a senior level within the construction industry
- Extensive knowledge of all relevant building regulations
- Working knowledge of Health and Safety legislation
- Proven strong management and leadership skills with the ability to influence and mentor
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with all levels of staff
- Commitment to keeping quality a priority despite challenging build deadlines
- Initiative and problem-solving nature to manage and resolve risks
- Good understanding of the cost control and forecasting
- HNC/HND/Degree level construction management qualification(s)

What they can offer you

For the right candidate, they can offer a competitive salary of up to £65,000 and a generous car allowance.

The working hours for this role are 7.30am - 5.00pm Monday to Friday and interviews will be held at their Head Office in Darwen, BB3.
