Our client is a highly reputable insurer and the leading insurance brand in the UK recognised as setting the standards others try to emulate. The business is known for insuring the homes of the rich and famous through to the most innovative technology companies.

The role is a home and field based position covering the London and surrounding South Eastern counties and as such will require regular travel.

The role is a crucial part of the strategy for managing major and complex property losses. We are seeking an individual with significant experience in handling high value property claims for both commercial and private clients alongside strong influencing and communication skills required to engage a broad variety of stakeholders and inspire confidence in customers during their time of need.

The successful candidate will be responsible for handling their own case-load of major and complex property and business interruption claims, from cradle to grave, and delivering an exceptional quality and pro-active claims service to clients and brokers, whilst maintaining and enhancing the reputation and brand.

Further responsibilities include the following;
  • Handle large claims, from first notification of loss to claim settlement with significant emphasis on visiting site and supporting the customer from the outset of the claim throughout its duration
  • Perform the role of claim owner, being fully accountable for the delivery of all activities on the claim and pro-actively bringing the claim to conclusion
  • Arrange alternative accommodation for the customer and address any emergency requirements
  • Oversee reinstatement works, working with a wide range of professionals with a focus on controlling cost, managing the project to an agreed delivery date and ensuring, at each stage, that the customer is satisfied with the works
  • Support contents replacement, assisting the customer with compiling inventory and sourcing replacement items. Where repair is possible management of the relevant experts is necessary
  • Taking ownership of stakeholder management, communicating regularly with the customer; the broker; the relevant Product Head and Underwriter and the Claims Management team

Experience required includes the following;
  • Extensive experience and a proven track record in handling high value and complex household, commercial property and business interruption claims from either an insurer, loss adjusting or similar background.
  • Achieved or willing to achieve a relevant professional qualification such as the ACII or CILA certifications.
