GovNet Events are looking for a Senior Marketing Manager to join the London office to design an inbound focused marketing strategy for a portfolio of conferences and drive best practice across inbound, content and community initiatives. The position involves management of 4 Marketers on a daily basis. As part of the wider team, this role requires interaction with the research, content and sales functions on product development and client relationship building.

Key responsibilities:
  • People management - recruitment, training and coaching, weekly catch ups with team members and responsibility for their work organisation and performance
  • Grow and manage the GE communities - delivery of a community development program, member acquisition and retention campaigns, persona relevant content, market research
  • Create innovative strategic and tactical conference marketing plans tailored to different personas - direct mail, email, social media, online advertising, SEO and high impact content solution
  • Market mapping and audience planning, database analysis and segmentation
  • Development of online marketing strategy and best practice, including creative e-mail campaigns, social media, blogging, advertising tactics
  • Own content marketing programs and implement new initiatives to enhance the content marketing strategy e.g. video, webinars, podcasts
  • Implement sponsorship marketing plans that drive revenues and client satisfaction
  • Deliver lead generation strategies through content solutions and online mediums to support the delegate and sponsor targets
  • Oversee speaker, partner and sponsor marketing plans to deliver additional promotional activities and ROI
  • Plan press and media activities to support the conferences and community
  • Responsibility for copywriting and production of marketing collateral
  • Develop the event website strategy
  • Manage relationships with internal and external suppliers (design, print, web development, delegate acquisition teams, etc.)

  • A marketing qualification and/or experience in a marketing management role
  • Must have worked within marketing within an Events enviroment (Conferences/Exhibtions)
  • Strong leadership skills with a proven track record of people management
  • Experience in all aspects of developing and managing conference marketing campaigns
  • Expertise in launching events internationally
  • Strong knowledge of digital channels, including online ads and social marketing
  • Sound understanding of inbound strategies and content marketing
  • Content marketing skills - copywriting and excellent communication skills are key
  • Experience in marketing automation preferable, ideally Marketo or HubSpot
