Our client, an outsourced accountancy services provider based in Warrington are looking for a Payroll Officer to join the company. You will ideally have knowledge of Sage software and will be able to come in and hit the ground running, with at least 2 year's payroll experience, this experience will ideally include experience of working within a payroll bureau or Accountancy firm. You will be able to run the payroll function for approx. 20 companies+, dealing with contractor pay, completing end to end payrolls on a weekly basis. You will have an excellent memory and ability to think, not just process business, as well as high attention to detail and be able to problem solve.

The Role
Duties will include, but are not limited to the following:

* Managing portfolio of payrolls for approx. 20 + companies on a variable basis.
* Weekly and mid weekly payroll for Contractors
* Use Sage software
* Processing starters and leavers.
* Calculating deductions including all statutory payments.
* Implementing Auto Enrolment where necessary (training can be given)
* Processing manual calculations (statutory pay & standard wage)
* Processing & receiving RTI
* Dealing with clients via telephone and email, resolving issues & queries
* Updating tax codes
* Distribution of payslips
* Cover for payroll colleagues, when required
* Undertaking other appropriate payroll tasks
* Keeping up to date with all payroll legislation and compliance.
* Undertaking any general payroll administration as and when required, e.g. filing.

Essential personal qualities
Experience and skills required:

* Approx. 2 years' experience of payroll, including working within a payroll bureau
* Experience of running payroll on a weekly basis
* Experience of running payroll for 20+ companies
* Excellent admin skills with an outstanding attention to detail
* Experience of implementing Auto Enrolment
* A real natural problem solver
* Team Player & Friendly 'Can do' Attitude
* Adaptable to change as payroll is always evolving
* Personal commitment, dedication to the role and the company
* Knowledge of Sage software
* Have clear understanding of payroll legislation and compliance

The Company

An outsourced accountancy services provider that focuses on handling accounts, VAT and bookkeeping for sol traders mainly. A growing business which has recently seen a huge upturn in the number of clients, therefore this position is as a result of growth.
The already successful company is about to establish a new additional payroll service to run alongside its more traditional payroll services, which will focus on payments to contractors. The company has recently won a new contract & will now start to manage volume outsourced Contractor payroll, growing to potentially 200 people running through this payroll by the end of the year.

Salary, Pensions, Holidays and Benefits
Salary range is £22,000 - £26,000 per annum
