Job Type: Full-time (Monday to Friday)

Salary: £100-£150 per day

Start date: Wednesday 4th September 2019

End date: Tuesday 23rd July 2020

A Primary School in the heart of Blackburn, East Lancashire have approached Teaching Personnel in order to source and appoint a Year 1 class teacher to take up a full time teaching role in Key Stage 1 from the start of September 2019. The role is expected to continue until the end of the academic year with the view to a temp. to perm. option being available.

The class is made up for 27 pupils, you will be expected to deliver practical and engaging lessons following the National Curriculum. You would have a full time Teaching Assistant who is currently working with the children in EYFS. The Teaching Assistant currently leads interventions 2 afternoons a week and this is something that would be continued for the children needing additional support in Phonics and vocabulary development.

The school is located outside the main town centre in Blackburn, and is easily commutable by train and car. There are a number of children in the school who come from a range of multi-cultural backgrounds and so this affects the development of language and communication skills. The Head teacher has commented that they would like to appoint a teacher who has worked closely with either the Read Write Inc. or the Letters and Sounds Phonics Scheme.
