SEN Teaching Assistant Person Specification

For this post you should be a caring Psychology graduate who has a history of academic success that includes a 2:2 or better in your degree and previous experience working in a school-based role. The school are hoping for a graduate who can forge new relationships quickly and provide an inclusive approach to education. The successful candidate will have a love for education and an understanding nature and caring attitude.

SEN Teaching Assistant Role

As a SEN Teaching Assistant, your responsibilities will include helping the SEN department and class teachers to manage the differentiation of abilities within lessons, you will offer an avenue of individual and group sessions for particular pupils with extra needs. A daily duty of yours will be to ensure special needs and safeguarding are met whilst supporting the EHCPs of all pupils with SEN. You will gain invaluable experience as you work with the SENCO, class teachers and external agencies to forward the progress in academic and social areas of pupils with SEN. The excellent mentoring and support that you receive in this school is second to none and a dedicated SENCO will on hand for your development.
