Job DescriptionThis is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Lead Microsoft Azure Architect / Lead Azure Architect to join our UK Digital and Cloud Platform Practice. You will be creating a team, leading the team to deliver large scale Datacentre migration services to Microsoft Azure for key Version 1 customers.

Your main responsibilities will be:

  • Leading a technical team of migration consultants across to IaaS and PaaS platforms.
  • Customer collaboration on migration and discovery workshops and documentation
  • Architecting Microsoft Azure Solutions across multiple technologies such as Microsoft, Open Source and Oracle.
  • Migration planning exercises and effort estimation for projects/ proposals
  • Engagement with Version 1 partners such as Microsoft and 3rd party tool vendors
  • Delivery responsibility of Microsoft Azure migration projects.
  • Documentation of solutions (e.g. architecture, configuration and setup).
  • Mentoring junior members of the Azure migration team
  • Working within a project management/agile delivery methodology in a leading role as part of a wider team.
  • Collaborate and liaise with other Version 1 and customer stakeholders
  • Assisting in providing post-migration support for customers
  • Provide effective knowledge transfer and upskilling to relevant customer personnel to ensure an appropriate level of future self-sufficiency
  • The transition of projects to Version 1 Managed Services teams or customer support teams.

It is essential that you have strong, in-depth and demonstrable hands-on experience with the following experiences and technologies:
  • Strong experience in Azure Site Recovery and Azure Migrate
  • Direct experience of large Datacentre migrations to Azure or other Public cloud platforms
  • Azure Microsoft certification
  • Understanding of Database technology
  • Understand of Application Architecture
  • Microsoft Azure and its relevant build, deployment, automation, networking and security technologies in Cloud and hybrid environments.
  • Microsoft Azure Operational and Monitoring tools
  • Knowledge Windows Virtual Machines
  • Knowledge of Linux Virtual Machines

It is highly desirable that you have good knowledge and understanding of the following platforms and their deployment:
  • Proven consultancy experience working for a Microsoft Partner system integrator
  • Direct experience of large Datacentre migrations to Azure or other Public cloud platforms
  • Experience of setting up, deploying and managing multiple environments to support agile development approaches.
  • Possession of Azure Microsoft certifications.
  • Microsoft Azure Platform as a Service product such as Azure SQL, WebApps, AppServices and FunctionApp
  • Microsoft Azure and 3rd party Security experience such as, Checkpoint, Fortigate, Cisco ASA, Azure NSG, Azure WAF and Azure Security Centre.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Remote Desktop Services.
  • In-depth understanding of Microsoft Identity and Access Management products such as Azure AD, ADFS, Azure AD Connect, Conditional Access, Azure AD Proxy and Active Directory Domain Services.
  • Knowledge of PowerShell, Git, ARM templates, JSON, Bash and deployment automation.
  • Experienced in the design and delivery of enterprise-level Highly Available solutions.
  • Experienced in some of the following Data Protection products; Azure Backup, CommVault, Arcserve, Dataprotector, Netbackup, Veeam etc.
  • Automated deployment of APIs via API Management / App Service and serverless solutions (Azure Functions, Docker etc)
  • Knowledge of Web Applications such as IIS, Apache, JBOSS, Tomcat, Weblogic & WebSphere
  • Knowledge of Non-Microsoft Databases such as Oracle or MySQ
  • Knowledge of development platforms and languages such as .Net, C++, C#, VB, ASP and Java
  • Microsoft Azure App Service Fabric, App Service Environment, Microsoft Azure API Management platform technologies
  • Knowledge of deployment orchestration and configuration management tools (Jenkins, Chef, Puppet, Terraform, Kubernetes).
