To provide financial support and analytic information/reporting of standard format to the General Manager.

To challenge information given in the forecasting and budgeting process and make recommendations for improving returns and reducing costs.

To direct and review and challenge monthly profit and loss accounts with comparison to forecast, budget and last year and identify opportunities/lesson learnt.

To support and advise the management team on financial and commercial matters arising out of monthly management account reviews.

To review management information and decisions made from such information, and put recommendations in place and action where change is required.

To review and challenge weekly payroll, and work with the management teams to control payroll in line with budget ensuring that productivity ratios are maintained and monitored

To liaise with external auditors verifying strict compliance with company policies and procedures and adherence to the uniform system of accounts.

To support General Manager in strategic business planning. Particular emphasis on investment opportunity to identify value opportunities / new revenue streams.

To appraise sales opportunities in order to maximise sales revenue and to assist in the decision process.

To manage the weekly forecast submission and to ensure forecasting tools are standard and generate accurate forecasting techniques.

To challenge the forecast and highlight future business risk / opportunities.

To identify capital expenditure projects that will generate high ROI and strategically benefit that unit.

To continually seek development ideas, help managers to re-evaluate the product and the effectiveness of internal and external space.

To review and assist in the preparation of the annual budget with the General Management team, challenging the information given and to make any recommendations as required.


Previous experience of managing and leading a team

Qualified by experience in a finance role or studying towards CIMA or ACCA

Strong analytical skills

Proven large scale hospitality industry experience in a hands-on financial/commercial role.

Ability to communicate and influence at a senior level

Advanced Report writing

Budget compilation

Advanced excel knowledge

Good working knowledge of PowerPoint/Word

Good working knowledge of hospitality systems
