My client is one of the world's leading specialists in the field of drive and control technologies. The company supplies customers with tailored solutions for driving, controlling and moving - for industrial, mobile applications and factory automation, supplying a diverse customer base across various industry sectors.

A vacancy has arisen for a Resident Engineer to join the Key Account team dedicated to supporting one of our major OEM's, with the mobile hydraulic applications division, working on both support for current projects and to work proactively to secure future projects.


Based at the customers location, main responsibilities will be

- First point of contact for answering technical enquiries regarding our mobile hydraulic products and their applications in reaction to customer demand and requirements.

- Identifying and selecting products from the available hydraulic product range, satisfying application and customer specifications and preparing detailed quotations and specifications.

- Reviewing technical content of customer orders, verifying quotation and order, ensuring customer requirements are met.

- Identifying variances in quotations and orders, taking corrective action as appropriate. (e.g. additional order lines, incorrect part numbers, incomplete specification etc)

- Editing engineering parts lists for inaccuracies and identifying improved solutions to meet customer specifications.

- Producing fully priced parts lists for enquiries, meeting the requirements of both enquiry and design specification.

- Sourcing up to date prices from internal and external suppliers ensuring target margins are achieved.

- Progressing of orders, advising customers of delays, problems and alternatives when required.

- Consulting with the design engineers to facilitate completion of sales order and/or repeat business.

- Supporting the negotiating of contracts, reviewing 'technical' terms and conditions.

- Providing technical support for definedproducts or product range for internal and external customer.

- Ensuring complete access of relevant information/materials by organising and maintaining files and work area, e.g. customer correspondence, project files, and technical publication files.

- Technical assessment of opportunities

- Coordination function for new product introductions, with required monitoring and management of road map/ mile stones for new projects/product

- Support & management of all companies commissioning, in cooperation with customer

- Training of customer associates about the companies products

- Monitoring delivery for prototype and validation of technical data

- QA processes with Global Key Account Team

- Interface with manufacturing plants

- Manage support of quotation production with technical content

- Support for SAP Bill of materials & Routing creation

- Assist management of product 'Phase In/Out'

- Building relationships within all internal stakeholders, customer contact points, customer's DMU, professional bodies and suppliers as required.


HND/Degree in Mechanical/Electronics Engineering or European Equivalent

Detailed knowledge of mobile hydraulic products and applications

Conversant in Microsoft office products

SAP R3 or similar integrated system

Natural "hands on" aptitude with proven pragmatic problem solving ability

Experience within a demanding, fast moving customer environment

Proven application of strong communication skills

Language: English fluently + German and/or French desired
