The job opportunity:

GSE Tool Support is contracted to provide planned and reactive maintenance services to multiple airline and maintenance facility customers in the UK. Our customers are global organisations who work to strict timescales for aircraft repair and turnaround and therefore ensuring their tooling and equipment is always compliant and serviceable is critical.

Working within our established engineering team, the Junior Maintenance Engineer will be based from our London Heathrow workshops and will work with other more senior engineers across various locations - sometimes travelling to other UK airports outside of Heathrow. The majority of the works will be mechanically biased, but there will be elements of hydraulic, pneumatics and electrical aspects to consider - where support will be provided by a suitably qualified senior engineer. Day to day tasks will include delivering planned maintenance and repairs to aircraft ground support equipment and tooling - with a mixture of onsite repairs and workshop activities. Main duties:

·Delivering planned maintenance activities to various types of aircraft equipment and tooling.

·Undertaking repairs to various types of aircraft equipment and tooling.

·Reading engineering drawings and manuals to support fault-finding and identifying spare parts.

·Collection and delivery of customer equipment to and from various sites across our network.

·Prepare risk assessments, method statements and all aspects relating to Health and Safety on site

·Working as part of a wider engineering team.

·Surveying equipment to identify faults and generating reports via our online system.

·Supporting work activities at other airports or UK sites as required from time to time.

·Work closely with the Operations Team to ensure jobs are accepted, understood, implemented and closed down efficiently and accurately.

What we are looking for in our candidates:

·Holding a formal engineering or similar qualification would be advantageous.

·The ideal candidate will demonstrate a positive proactive approach to the role and will be committed to delivering customer service excellence.

·Demonstrable experience in a similar role is advantageous.

·Excellent customer service skills.

·Ability to work alone and as part of a team.

·Excellent planning and organisational ability with an analytical approach to problems.

·Experienced with IT, demonstrating ability in MS Office - including Email, Outlook, Word and Excel.

·Good at communicating with people at all levels - both internally and customer facing.
