Under the direction of the Management Team and Room Supervisors; the role holder provides routine activities to assist in the delivery of a customer focused cost effective and efficient support service.Central to roles: providing a safe, healthy, caring, inclusive and stimulating environment, where children are respected and supported as individuals and encouraged to learn through play and exploration.Key Accountabilities:•Assists in the delivery of an effective and flexible service, contributing to front line service as appropriate•Makes collaborative decisions with team members about immediate work priorities•Responds to the needs of children/parents/carers and liaising with outside agencies as appropriate•Responds to the needs of the customers/partners and escalates service issues and queries to more experienced team members where necessary •Solves problems that are commonly occurring and resolved by standard and known procedures and interventions•Follows standard H&S guidelines and report issues to team members or escalate as necessary•Follows Ofsted Statutory Framework for Early Years •Adheres to Safeguarding guidelines - reporting issues to appropriate team members•Handles pastoral care issues with sensitivity as presented by children/parents/carers/stakeholders . •Respecting confidentiality at all times.•Working with outside agencies as appropriate•Moderate physical effort may be required for specific periods in the role•Prioritises designated activities and supports team members to achieve agreed targets and objectives•Undertakes the role of Key Person to a designated number of children, producing in-depth Learning Journeys for individuals in partnership with parents, children, carers, and colleagues•Ensures all activities undertaken are in compliance with Freshlings Nursery working practices and policies•Delivers a professional and high quality customer service
Measures of Success: Successful delivery of key priorities and objectives agreed as part of the performance review process.

Experience:•Routine administration / functional experience (desirable)•Experience with children 0-5 years (essential)•Working within a team (essential)•Working in a nursery environment caring for children 0-5 years of age (essential)•Child Observations, assessments and planning cycle (essential)•Working in an environment with sensitive or confidential information (desirable)•Working in partnership with parents (essential)Skills:•Clear communication - verbal and written (essential)•Able to communicate effectively at all levels, with children, parents, colleagues and all stakeholders (essential)•To plan and supervise activities appropriate to the different ages and stages of individual children (essential)•Ability to deliver the highest level of child centric professional caring service whilst confidentiality is maintained (essential)
Special Requirements for the role:•This role requires the post holder to secure an enhanced DBS (CRB) clearance •There will be a requirement to attend staff meetings outside normal working hours from time to time.
The salary after probation will be circa £16,258
