Contract Details: 37 hours per week, 52 weeks per year

New College Swindon was judged "Good" by OFSTED in 2017 and continues to be one of the best performing colleges nationally for learner progress in GCSE Maths and English (AoC 2017/2018, 6th for Maths and 9th for English nationally).

You will be working for the college at an exciting time, Swindon has recently been confirmed as one of the successful locations for an Institute of Technology and as a partner, New College Swindon will play a pivotal role in this development.

We have a vacancy within the Faculty of Business, Computing and Travel as Curriculum Manager. The Curriculum is growing with a solid foundation of core curriculum aimed at school leavers but with a focus on developing provision at Higher Education and in work-based learning. With that in mind, the college have recently invested in new resources including a dedicated networking laboratory for Cyber Security and bespoke rooms for courses within the Financial Academy.

You will be required to ensure that the Business, Computing & Travel Curriculum is managed, developed and reviewed in accordance with college policies and procedures in order that the highest quality of provision and performance is maintained to meet learner and employer needs. With the imminent introduction of T Levels and the Education Inspection Framework (EIF), replacing the current framework from September 2019 you will need to have outstanding sector knowledge and be a visionary leader. Having a subject specialism in one of the subject areas would be an advantage but applicants from other specialisms would be considered.

The performance of the whole faculty is "Good" with many programmes above national and college targets. This is an excellent opportunity for a new or existing manager to lead and motivate a large group of learners and staff members. We are looking for a robust, enthusiastic and motivated individual to maintain the performance and make the necessary improvements where required. We would like to hear from individuals that feel they have the skills to support staff members, develop curriculum, improve the quality of education and training and can provide innovation to the curriculum area.

It is essential that you hold a full Level 5 Teaching Qualification together with a degree or alternative Level 5 subject specialists qualification. Holding an appropriate Level 4 Management Qualification would be benefical, but not essential.

You will be required to hold a Level 2 Qualification in English, Maths and ICT. If you do not hold a Level 2 ICT qualification, successful candidates will be required to undertake a relevant Microsoft qualification within first 12 months of employment.If the qualification held is more than 10 years old, we will require you to undertake a relevant refresher qualification.
