Overview of the company;

Pratap Partnership are recruiting for a large PLC in Sheffield who are currently going through a period of change and have a newly created role of Project Accountant. This is an exciting time to be involved with the business and as a part qualified or newly qualified Accountant this will give you some excellent experience an exposure for your future career

Oveview of the role;

This role provides support to the Group financial reporting and management reporting teams, with a specific focus on the accounting for IT projects and other ad-hoc projects. The projects are UK and Europe based.

Ensure costs for the projects incurred are managed and accounted for in management accounts and external financial accounts and development of policies and procedures in relation to recording and monitoring costs

Responsibility for ensuring costs recognised appropriately as either capital or operating expenditure

Business partnering with IT project managers to review costs incurred and progress against budget

Responsibility for preparing analysis and support for the year end external audit

Direct liaison with external auditors

Involvement in other ad-hoc projects within Group Finance

Overview of expectations;

Part qualified (towards the end of exams) or qualified ACA/ACCA/CIMA with a strong technical background

Experience of producing reports and analyses to deadlines and a good working knowledge of financial accounting. You will be a confident self-starter, and be able to work with minimum supervision. With excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to quickly build relationships internally and externally. You will also need the ability to plan, prioritise and work under pressure to meet deadlines, with high attention to detail, the ability to communicate accounting technical points clearly both verbally and in writing with both finance and non-finance colleagues and excellent skills in MS office products including Excel, PowerPoint and Word
