Amphenol Advanced Sensors, headquartered in St. Mary's, Pennsylvania, is a business unit within Amphenol that produces innovative sensor solutions for temperature, pressure, gas and moisture measurement applications.

When you join our global engineering team as a mechanical design engineer, you will be responsible for driving growth of the Temperature product line.

Mechanical Design Engineer - Key Responsibilities:

- Apply Advanced Sensors' Temperature technology to given applications to provide customer solutions

- Technical resource to the sales team, since very initial projects stages

- Product costs estimates and investments consolidation to support Sales Team on the Quotation Phase

- Identify and develop technical training and sales tools for the applications

- Benchmarking and tear-down analysis (focus on new technologies and design optimizations)

- Leveraging lessons learned and working with other design engineers to develop design building blocks for the applications

- Develop and maintain a multi-generation application plan via product roadmaps, New Product Implementation (NPI) and New Technology Introduction (NTI) with the intent of feeding plan into the business strategy and budget process

- Designs mechanical models using SolidWorks

- Experience with finite element analysis

- Design concept validation through prototype build and tests

- Design Validation (DV) & Product Validation (PV) planning and completion

- Manage design engineering tasks / deliverables on time and on budget

Mechanical Design Engineer - You:

- BA or BSc Degree in Mechanical Engineering

- Fluency in English (essential) and German (desired)

- Minimum 5 years of engineering experience within product development, custom product engineering and application engineering

- Experience with APQP, DFMEA's, Control Plans

- Experience working within a structured new product development process (design reviews, tollgates, peer reviews, customer signoffs)

- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with customers, foster relationships and grow business pipeline
