Housing 21 is England's leading provider of retirement housing and care services for people aged 55 and above.

We currently have a requirement for a qualified Business Accountant to join our head office team and act as a 'business partner' to internal stakeholders by providing commercial support.

This is a high profile, critical role within the finance function, where you will take the lead in providing accurate and timely management information and commercial support to senior operational management, whilst also contributing towards improvements in how Finance serves the business.

As Business Accountant, key responsibilities include:

·Preparing periodic financial statements, including profit and loss accounts, forecasts, budgets, cash flows, variance analysis and commentaries.

·Providing a support service by working with the operational management team to help make financial decisions.

·Ensuring cash generation and spending is kept in line with the budget.

·Advising on the financial implications and consequences of business decisions.

·Analysis of financial performance and contributing to medium and long-term business planning and forecasts.

·Offering professional judgement on financial matters and advising on ways of improving business performance.

·Interpreting and communicating financial data to non-financial managers

·Liaising with other operational managers to put the finances and accounts in context.

·Monitoring and evaluating financial information systems and suggesting improvements where needed.

The successful applicant will be a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with an extensive track record of management accounting, reporting and commercial business support.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential, in order to nurture and develop relationships with key stakeholders.

Fixed Term Contract 12 months, full time - 35 hours per week
