Senior Teaching Assistant job | SEND Support across year groups | Tower Hamlets | £75 - £95 per day

You will be working at a large 2/3 form entry Primary School based in the centre of Tower hamlets who prides themselves on their engagement within the local community. The school boasts excellent facilities for pupils including access to a wealth of musical opportunities, a dance studio and specialist subject Teachers in several areas. The school is within easy access to several over ground/underground stations and is located within a bustling area within walking distance of a high street.

Your new role
You will be leading a team of Teaching Assistants with varying responsibilities across the school to ensure that pupils have support in several areas from general academic support, SEND support and intervention support, ensuring that the support given to pupils and other staff members remains consistent and of the highest standard. You will be taking small groups of pupils out of the classroom to lead interventions sessions prepared by yourself. These interventions will include raising academic attainment within specific subjects and SEND support to pupils with ASD and/or Speech and Language support alongside a Speech and Language Therapist. You will be reporting into the Deputy Head Teacher/SENDCo to ensure that the interventions and support given is tailored appropriately to the needs of the pupils and support given to other Teaching Assistants is consistent.

What you'll need to succeed

In order to be considered for this role you must have previous experience of working within schools, with at least 2 years of experience, preferably across year groups. You will have experience supporting children with SEND, predominantly ASD and be confident/flexible in your approach of supporting children with SEND. The school is looking for a suitable candidate with excellent communication skills and a flexible and adaptable approach to supporting children as you will be required to move across year groups and take upon various responsibilities within the school.
