My client is a Global Leader in the Automotive & Motorsport industry who are seeking a Infrastructure Tech Lead to act as one of their senior technical leads, delivering reliable IT services to the wider business.

The primary purpose of the role is to:

The purpose of the role is to focus on and improve reliability and availability across the IT application and infrastructure landscape, deliver new technologies that support, enable and enhance our mission to win F1 World Championships, lead by example as a senior technical escalation point for a broad range of IT support topics and deliver exceptional customer service and technical excellence, in a flexible way, particularly as we require support out of hours for maintenance changes and technical support (on a rota basis).

  • Troubleshooting, problem solving and root cause analysis
  • Prioritisation and self-management
  • Design, implementation and support of enterprise applications, middleware and infrastructure
  • Support and optimization of in-house and bespoke applications

  • Delivering exceptional customer service under pressure
  • Operational support at a senior technical level, within a medium to large sized enterprise
  • A broad range of technical experience within a fast paced, dynamic environment
  • Leading major incidents and short to long term remediation activities
  • Project management of concurrent key initiatives
  • Planning, organising, leading and delivering complex, fast moving workloads with both internal and external 3rd party resources
  • Leading strategy, innovation and technical topics
  • Defining and governing architectural standards
  • Working to recognised methodologies i.e. (ITIL, PRINCE2, Agile)
  • Supporting junior colleagues via mentoring, training and documentation

Essential Technical Skills
  • A broad operational role within a fast paced, dynamic environment
  • Enterprise application, middleware and infrastructure technologies
  • Windows Server 2008-2016
  • Active Directory / Group Policy
  • Exchange
  • SCCM 2007-2016
  • Some Application Packaging
  • Virtualization - VMware / Hyper-V / VDI
  • Database support, administration and optimisation
  • Scripting (PowerShell), orchestration and automation techniques
  • Networking Fundamentals

Desirable Technical Skills
  • High Performance Companying & CAD (CAx technologies)
  • Motorsport, OEM automotive or engineering background
  • Testbed & simulation platforms.
