My client is a Global Leader in the Automotive & Motorsport industry who are seeking an HPC Engineer (High Performance Computing) to act as one of our technical leads, delivering reliable IT services to the wider business.

The primary purpose of the role is to:

The purpose of the role is to focus on and improve reliability and availability across the IT application and infrastructure landscape, deliver new technologies that support, enable and enhance our mission to win F1 World Championships, lead by example as a senior technical escalation point for a broad range of IT support topics and deliver exceptional customer service and technical excellence, in a flexible way, particularly as we require support out of hours for maintenance changes and technical support (on a rota basis).

You'll be a senior technical escalation point for all IT support topics, delivering exceptional customer service in a flexible way, particularly as we require support on out of hours maintenance changes and support on a rota basis. To be right for my client, you'll have a strong, current and broad ranging technical background that means you can both step back and see the big picture, and get involved in a hands on way.

Knowledge, skills and experience required:

A minimum of 5 years' experience in a senior operational support role (3rd line or equivalent) within a fast paced medium to large sized enterprise, including support of the following:

  • Support and optimization of a broad range of in-house and bespoke applications
  • Experience within an Engineering focused role or company
  • Linux/Unix Skills (AIX or SUSE used but any flavor applicable) - HPC
  • Computer Aided Design (CAD)/Manufacturing experience - LTA, Abaqus, High Performance Computing (HPC), Simulation Software
  • SCCM/SCOM experience
  • Client and server Operating Systems
  • Database support - SQL and DB2 to run SQL scripts

  • Project lead and delivery experience working to a recognised methodology (i.e. PRINCE2, Agile)
  • Experience of scripting, orchestration and automation techniques
  • Excellent call management experience
