Robert Walters: Finance Manager

I am currently recruiting for a Finance Manager on a permanent basis within the South Birmingham area for a developing organisation within their field, the salary for this position is up to £50,000 per annum.

Please note: It is essential that the ideal candidate has SAP systems experience, must be qualified ACA, ACCA, CIMA and open to travel within a role

Essential Requirements of Finance Manager:
  • Provide managerial support and guidance to facilitate the development of team members and to promote effective team working and high performing behaviours
  • Conduct one to one reviews with individual team members and coordinate team meetings on a regular basis
  • Monitor the day-to-day financial operations within the company, such as payroll, invoicing and other transactions
  • Produce and present reports to inform the European Controller and the local Leadership Team of business activities, trends and the associated financial impact
  • Track the organisation's financial status and performance to identify areas for potential improvement, including ways to mitigate financial risk to the business
  • Responsible for the preparation of accurate monthly management accounts and statutory accounts for all local entities related to the Company, liaising with the EMEA Controller over the status of accounts on a regular basis
  • Generate, interpret and prepare management information to inform the business of key financial data in line with internal processes and accounting standards
  • Put together weekly and monthly cash flow forecasts, in addition to assisting with quarterly forecasts
  • Maintain overall responsibility for the calculation and processing of month end journals including; posting accruals, prepayments for overheads, conducting full analysis, in addition to recharges and ensuring relevant checks and controls are in place
  • Hold responsibility for undertaking timely month end reporting for senior management, ensuring management accounts accurately reflect business performance, alongside identifying and reviewing any variances and corrections
  • Assist the EMEA Controller in budget management, the production of annual budgets and the generation of financial models to support long-term business plans
  • Handle the administering of PAYE, corporation tax and VAT payments to HMRC along with the provision of relevant returns, where required
  • Responsible for auditing and processing payroll and employee commission payments and effectively deal with any related queries
  • Contribute to annual statutory audits and ensure that compliance is maintained at all times, including preparation of detailed year end files
  • Comply with the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974, adhering to the Health and Safety Policy and associated procedures, ensuring the health and safety of oneself and others
  • Adhere to the Company's policies and procedures, maintaining a professional standard of conduct and upholding the reputation of the Company at all times
  • Carry out any other duties as required in order to meet business objectives
