Your Role
To support and develop the supply base in ensuring that they meet all PLT's requirements for both Ethical compliance and conformance policies.

To work in conjunction with the Buying Manager to ensure a cohesive approach so that all key stakeholders are engaged in working together to ensure that supply base is supporting business growth.

What you'll do
  • Work with new and existing suppliers to support achievement and maintenance of compliance with PLT ethical trading policy, ensuring that the business targets are met.
  • Undertake technical and product safety audits and manage improvements.
  • Manage the ethical trading action plan to ensure that key targets are met and maintained.
  • Support both operations and suppliers in the management of non-conforming stock to ensure that corrective actions are put in place to prevent re-occurrence.
  • Ensure that supplier performance is tracked and monitored through reporting, visiting and that profitable decisions are driven through the actions.
  • Instrumental in delivering supply chain solutions, drive efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Assist suppliers in the compliance of new business requirements set out in the PLT supplier manual.
  • Develops, implements and evaluates supplier performance and delivers reports to the business, this will include capacity, lead-times and performance.
  • Manage and maintains communications between suppliers and relevant departments in the company.
  • Reduce lead times by working with the supplier to ensure corrective action plans are put in place.
  • Proactively maintain detailed knowledge and understanding of PLT buying and product strategy to ensure all activities are aligned to business goals and targets.
  • Undertake business travel as required to deliver above actions - within countries and territories under own remit. To include travel with buying and design team members.
  • Produce reports and activity logs as required by senior management.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with suppliers to create mutually profitable working relationships.
