Hours: - 08.00-17.00 Monday - Friday 09.00 - 1700 Saturday 10.00 - 16.00 Sunday on a rota basis

Personal Qualities
  • Experienced Retail Manager with track record of beating sales and profit targets.
  • A proven sales person with a desire to improve the customer experience through their own actions and the development of the team's skills.
  • A great communicator who is able to demonstrate verbal and written skills, translating our goals into manageable objectives.
  • Experience of training, performance management, objective setting and reviews.
  • A desire to establish us as leaders in the industry.
  • Experience of chairing and managing meetings of people from all levels of the business, including collating and driving through actions.
  • Ability to recruit good quality people who add value to our business.
  • Capable and experienced in dealing with unhappy or difficult customers and staff professionally and consistently.
  • A desire and skills to improve and maintain the standards within the showroom and the business generally.

Customer focus
  • Drive sales by keeping the team focussed on the agreed targets (that you set) and reviewing performance regularly
  • Deliver excellent customer service that exceeds all customers' expectations, both personally and through the team

· Ensure all direct reports have comprehensive, up-to-date product knowledge
  • Ensure that we match the needs of the customer to the best product available - Sell the project.
  • Ensure that all customers are dealt with efficiently, courteously and as promptly as possible
  • Deal with customer complaints/enquiries and follow them through to a satisfactory conclusion, seek advice if unsure of our legal obligations.
  • Ensure all commitments made to customers are realistic, achievable and are completed within the agreed time frames.
  • Ensure that all Company systems and procedures are followed at all times and the company is not exposed to financial risk
  • Ensure the telephone is answered promptly and that any sales leads or call backs are completed effectively and in good time
  • Lead by example, offer the best possible customer service, constantly develop product knowledge and selling skills and look to prepare yourself for a growing set of responsibilities in a growing business.

Business awareness
  • Inspire your team to create effective, up-to-date displays in the showroom, ensuring that all products are clearly coded, priced and kept clean and presentable
  • Maintain adequate stock levels in the shop through the team to ensure sales opportunities are maximised
  • Support the Senior Managers in the production of promotional literature on special offers or end of line clearances, look for and act on opportunities that present themselves.
  • Deputise effectively in the absence of the Senior Managers and in accordance with Company procedures
  • Wherever possible, identify improvements to processes to enhance customer service, reduce costs, improve margin etc.
  • Prepare and assist with stock checks ensuring compliance by the team and yourself adhering to company procedure and a thorough and timely investigation into any discrepancies.
  • Take on any reasonable ad hoc duties to ensure the smooth running of The Company

Training and development
  • Take ownership of the Induction, training and development of all new recruits, using both your own initiative and any prescribed training materials
  • Ensure all direct reports have comprehensive, up-to-date product knowledge and help them use this in effective ways by coaching their selling skills.
  • Look for opportunities to grow your own skills in support of business objectives
  • Develop a method of regular observation and feedback with team members so that written records of their progress and development needs are available.
  • Use the skills within the team to train the team, reward expertise.

Staff Management
  • Interview, recruit and train new employees as required, in association with the HR manager.
  • Conduct reviews with each direct report ensuring development action plans are in place.
  • Address any staff grievances sympathetically and professionally in accordance with company guidelines
  • Ensure that appropriate action is taken where performance of direct reports falls below Company standards. Be consistent
  • Delegate tasks appropriately to colleagues and ensure that all are completed satisfactorily
  • Ensure all colleagues meet the requirements of the standards of dress policy including personal grooming and appearance.
  • Report, investigate and solve any Health and Safety issues

  • Keep paperwork precise and clear so that tasks may be followed by colleagues and auditors.
  • Ensure all deliveries are taken in adherence with the Company processes to conclusion
  • Keep accurate staff attendance records and maintain the staff rostas in line with business requirements.
  • Ensure that cash and stock handling procedures are followed at all times to remove risk of financial loss and protect individuals from unreasonable suspicion
  • Ensure that Heath Safety and other legislative requirements are met on a weekly basis, i.e. fire alarm testing, risk assessments, fire exit walks etc.
