Public Health Wales is now seeking exceptional and inspirational candidates for the new national leadership role of Director of Knowledge, which has been created as part of its Strategy Working to achieve a healthier future for Wales, 2018-2030. Reporting to the Chief Executive, the Director will use cross-sector population health data (from structured and unstructured sources) to derive knowledge, discovery and insight, resulting in informed action to transform health and well-being in Wales. S/he will provide leadership to the organisation's transformation to being data and science led, embracing new web and digital technologies and being at the forefront of population health research and evaluation to transform health in Wales. They will establish strong relationships with diverse sectors industries, both in Wales and internationally.

You will bring experience as a senior strategic leader in a relevant field, including data science, research and evaluation, at or near board level. You will have the opportunity to sit round the board table and gain experience of board level working as well as having the opportunity to influence board business and focus. You will have a strong track record of academic research, policy development and/or international health experience. You will be a proven strategic thinker, and a first-class people leader, communicator and relationship builder. This is an exciting and exceptional opportunity.
