Aviva's Internal Audit purpose is "to contribute to Aviva's success by promoting an effective framework of controls which enable risk in Aviva to be assessed and managed".

The function is a global function in the Aviva Group working across Aviva's business divisions. The role has considerable exposure and influence on strategic decision makers in the organisation.

Under the mentorship of the Director of Audit, you will set the direction and be responsible for assessing and reporting (to Group/Business Unit Audit, Risk committees, management as appropriate) on the effectiveness of the design and operation of the framework of controls.

What will the role involve?
  • Leading the development and delivery of the Audit Plan for IT and Major Change;
  • Communicating and reporting to relevant stakeholders the assessment of the effectiveness of the framework of controls;
  • Leading the department/team, ensuring that the appropriate people strategy is in place to recruit, reward and develop staff effectively, driving high performance;
  • Leading on advisory work as appropriate.

What skills & experience are we looking for?
  • Extensive experience in IT audit with relevant knowledge. of financial/risk/insurance/asset management market related topics.
  • Experience in leading complex projects/reviews, leading senior teams, negotiation situations and interacting with key stakeholders.
  • Extensive experience in managing the highest level of senior management relationships and influencing behaviour.
  • Professional IT audit/security qualification (CISA, CISM, CISSP or equivalent) or audit/accounting qualification (ACA, CIMA, CIA or equivalent).
