The Role

This role gives you the chance to work autonomously, creating your own team of Java Software Engineers from the ground up. You will be leading across multiple teams, to deliver bespoke products in the cloud across agile practices, leading the transformation project. In this role you will be:
  • Building and leading a team of Engineering Managers eventually having responsibility for up to 100 multi skilled Engineering colleagues
  • Ensuring that modern engineering practices are followed including TCC/BDD.
  • Technically planning and executing projects whilst also building strong relationships with stakeholders
  • Coaching and mentoring colleagues that are using Java
  • Defining and implementing industry leading engineering with Java

Key Skills and Requirements
  • Have a strong Software Engineer background
  • Know how to lead large teams of up to 100+ people
  • Extensive experience of Continuous Delivery, Infrastructure as code and public cloud
  • Extensive experience of Continuous Delivery, Infrastructure as Code and public cloud
  • How to optimise as much as possible including best practice TDD/BDD, automated security testing and V&P automation.
  • Practical experience of a multitude of different technologies and engineering practices through extensive industry experience
  • Demonstrable experience of techniques to lead transformation within large organisations.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of agile and lean principles, when they useful and how they work
  • Understand how to work within a multi-model delivery environment and manage resources effectively depending on approach.
