One of our clients are looking for an experienced procurement professional who has an excellent understanding of indirect procurement to join their team based in Nottingham.

Our client are an established marker leader and growing telematics and electronic proof of delivery company and their mission is to empower their customers to reduce their costs and environmental impact by maximising the efficiency of their transportation operations.

They're looking for a passionate and driven indirect purchasing manager to drive a strategic approach to all indirect categories. You'll play a key role contributing to the success of the business and will bring strong commercial acumen to exploit cost down / cost avoidance opportunities. They're looking for someone to lead the commercial negotiations for contract renewals with a 'valueadded' approach working with stakeholders at all levels of the business.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Continuous improvements focussed on processes and procedures.
  • Commercially responsible for all subcontractors installing their products both UK and overseas.
  • Reporting to the Head of Procurement, you will manage the purchase requisition process ensuring PO are placed in a timely manner and according to company policy.
  • Direct line management of one team member.

Essential Criteria:
  • Experience in a similar purchasing or buyer role.
  • Experience of implementing cost savings / cost avoidance initiatives.
  • Implementing efficiencies of transactional requirements.
  • Be enthusiastic and passionate about negotiations and improving purchasing relationships with suppliers and internally.
  • Great at building relationships and driving value from our client's procurement activities.
  • All round commercial business awareness.
  • Ability to negotiate contracts with significant variation in value and duration.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • IT literate - specifically MS Office packages, including Excel.

Highly Desirable:
  • Experience of managing and motivating a team.
  • Appropriate professional qualifications i.e. CIPS.

Our client are currently going through an expansion to France and it would be great if you are fluent in French or are willing to learn if it's suitable for the role.
