A sound knowledge of computing techniques, especially Microsoft or Cisco

Able to work to schedules with some supervision

Able to work on basic section duties with minimal supervision where priorities and circumstances often will change. A cheerful proactive and innovative approach is essential

Able to communicate with Council and manufacturer's staff in all areas on a technical and non-technical level in person by telephone and in writing.

The ability to follow standards and procedures

Must be accurate in work and documentation in order to ensure that no disruption of services is caused

Ability to keep abreast of all developments in computing methods and techniques and be able to

Pass on information about developments to other members of ICT

An understanding of business needs and how ITIL can be used to improve the service offered

The job has a high technical content. The candidate must be able to assimilate, discuss, use and distribute technical knowledge relating to all aspects of the work. A creative an innovative approach to cutting edge technology that can affect all the council is essential

Demonstrate experience and / or understanding of the technical and business aspects of information system technology operations and the development in a corporate environment including the exploitation of emergent technologies

Well developed problem solving and evaluation skills

Ability to develop and sustain partnerships

High level of interpersonal skills
