Summary
We are seeking a Project Manager with Infrastructure delivery experience to join our team!

The National Trust's strategy includes plans to invest over £30m in visitor infrastructure and conservation in London and South East over the next 3 years. To make that a reality we need experienced and passionate project managers with a strong buildings background who are able to bring their very best to some of the most important historic buildings and landscapes in England. It's about being part of something different, where cause matters most, and where our decisions are always based on long term, forever, for everyone.

The role will be based at Scotney Castle hub, be part of a wider Project Manager community, but sit within a team of conservation specialists including building surveyors and conservators, as well as having access to other conservation disciplines in London and South East.

Offering a pro rata salary of up to £50,000 per annum, depending on skills & experience, in addition to an impressive benefits package including a health cash plan, work discounts and flexible working.

We are therefore seeking a Project Manager with significant infrastructure delivery experience within sensitive historic environments, who wants to take this fantastic opportunity to leave a lasting legacy on this nationally significant landscape .
What you'll be doing
This post will lead the delivery of a £5 million visitor infrastructure project to create a step change at Scotney Castle ensuring that the national significance of the site can be understood, experienced and enjoyed by all visitors. By integrating and restoring the Picturesque setting of the Mansion, developing new components, relocating visitor facilities and offering visitors new opportunities to engage with this stunning designed landscape we will create a more inclusive and engaging experience whilst providing it with a more sustainable future.

You'll be leading and managing the implementation of the project, through a dedicated team of project staff and with a much wider team of staff, volunteers and stakeholders to deliver the project programme as set out in the project and activity plans. You'll be managing the delivery of a suite of capital works including the construction of a car park, new retail and visitor reception, the restoration of historic gardens and a new play area.
Who we're looking for
You will need to demonstrate the following, but not limited to:
  • Experience of delivering complex projects in a multi-disciplinary environment
  • Advanced project planning and management skills;
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills including the ability to manage and motivate project teams;
  • Strong financial planning and budget management skills;
  • Excellent people and influencing skills including the ability to build strong relationships and work in partnership with a wide range of stakeholders;
  • Enthusiasm and drive, with the ability to inspire people;
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple work streams;
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines;
  • Genuine interest in, and commitment to, heritage conservation;
  • Real commitment to community engagement and inclusion
  • Ability and willingness to mould core project management skills to suit the particular needs of National Trust goals
