An exciting opportunity in a growing Insurance Brokerage

Claims Executive- Bristol Temple Quay- £20k

This opportunity has been advertised by a large and constantly expanding Insurance Broker in the heart of Bristol Temple Quay. This exciting role is suitable for any graduate and will give real insight into the working roles between client and company.

Daily tasks will include, facilitating the successful resolution throughout the claims lifecycle of client's claims under their insurance policies in accordance with the Claims Principles as follows:
  • Fighting the client's corner - Foremost, protecting our client's interests
  • Advising on the drafting of claims notifications and provision of appropriate information - considering HLB Kidsons v Lloyds Underwriters, differing policy notification requirements etc
  • Consultancy and expert advice - Advising on PI claims issues providing context, input and clarification in relation to claims developments or action by the insurer
  • Keeping claims "on track" - Facilitating the efficient and successful resolution of claims - guiding both the insurer and insured from our own experience of similar issues. Facilitating the procedural aspects and mechanics of settlement
  • Reassurance that we are 100% on our client's side and standing with them - Supporting our client
  • Keeping the insurer "on risk" - Assessing and positively resolving coverage issues or "policy points"
  • Thinking outside of the box -Providing additional lateral input as the situation demands. Consideration and assistance with wider issues - reputational issues, commercial interests etc - It's our client's business as well as a claim
  • Data management - Retaining, or assisting our client in retaining, information relating to the claim (for future market submission purposes, claims analysis etc)
  • Bridging the Gap - The business is embedded in a network of nurtured contacts and relationships within the legal, professional and insurance spheres

Identify insurance and business issues arising and communicate these to the designated Account Handler

Represent the company at insurer and third party provider corporate events

Develop own relationships with key insurer and third party claims handlers

Liase with Department Manager and Department Director regarding claims trends, and issues arising with insurers and third party providers

Applicant Minimum Requirements: graduate (any discipline) or 2 years + commercial claims experience
