Eden Scott's client, a progressive deign, manufacture and installation company has an immediate requirement for a Design engineer. The role is a full time position based in Kirkbride, Cumbria.

Job Description:
  • Providing bespoke design solutions to meet customer requirements
  • Collaboration with project, purchasing and production teams to deliver a solution
  • Leading and attending regular design meetings
  • Liaising with customers & colleagues throughout the design, manufacture and installation of the project
  • Providing detailed general arrangement, layout, assembly and fabrication drawings using SolidWorks

Key Skills:

Ability to develop a product from concept through to completion, including:
  • Innovative high level concept designs
  • Engineering calculations
  • Component specification
  • Electrical integration and process sequencing
  • Educated to degree level in engineering, or equivalent education gained through work experience

Minimum of 3 years' experience using SolidWorks, including the following modules:
  • Essentials
  • Drawings
  • Weldments
  • Sheet Metal
  • Part Modelling
  • Assembly Modelling
  • Pipe & Tube Routing

Knowledge and experience of:
  • Steel Fabrication
  • Welding Processes
  • Knowledge and experience in the following types of system:
  • Material Handling Machinery / Systems
  • Production Lines
  • Complex Assemblies
  • Hydraulic systems
  • Pneumatic systems
  • Excellent organisation and communication skills

Additional Skills:

Knowledge and experience of:
  • Sheet metalwork
  • Structural steel calculations

Knowledge and experience in the following types of system:
  • PLC Controlled Electrical Systems
  • Electrical Instrumentation
  • Fluid movement and chemical treatment processes
  • Able to interpret and produce P&ID's
  • Knowledge of the Machinery Directive & CE Marking
  • Knowledge of the Pressure Equipment Regulations, Pressure Directive and PD5500 Standard

This is a full time position. Working hours Mon-Fri 7am - 17:30pm
