Operations Manager - Director Designate Taking control of manufacturing in an already thriving and successful company is an exciting challenge and one that only the very best will get the chance to take. My client is a very successful SME engineering company providing manufacturing service to clients across the globe. The company is about to transition to a new exciting phase of their growth and they need a very senior manager or Director to take control of operations. The Role Unquestionably you will have enjoyed considerable success in your current career to date but you will still aspire, have the energy, drive and enthusiasm to attain even heights. You will be a significant The role is a senior management position and will take responsibility for all operational aspects including engineering (maintenance), supply chain, planning and production. The company are looking to improve and looking for an individual to work with the team to identify and make the required improvements. They are looking for a lean approach - but a common sense approach to what works in relation to their business. We are looking for candidates who not only have the technical experience to succeed but who also have great people management skills and the ability to inspire teamwork and operational excellence. Main tasks and responsibilities: Set KPIs and monitor metrics to ensure continuous improvement Develop and execute a strategic plan in terms of people, facilities and capabilities Manage and deliver manufacturing and supply requirements Work closely with Business Development to secure new business and projects Review and approve key documentation Develop GMP facility systems in line with the company, client and regulatory requirements Host client/regulatory audits on behalf of Pharmaceutical Sciences You will work alongside other leaders in the business. You will also have the day to day responsibility for the management and direction of Manufacturing Operations. Facilities and Supplies departments including managing talent and succession planning. The Candidate We are looking for a dynamic and ambitious operations director/ manager who wants to work with this size of business making the improvements. It will suit someone who likes to be involved at all levels (don't want someone who just sits in an office). As a summary we are looking for: - Positive, friendly and dynamic Operations Manager/ Director - from an engineering-based manufacturing background; Continuous Improvement mentality - common sense approach; Proven track record in leading teams - improving people; Understanding of supply chain; Excellent communicator -can work with people at all levels; Preferably a degree in manufacturing/ engineering-based discipline. The role involves tight deadlines and a high concentration of work, therefore you must be able to handle multiple tasks or problems simultaneously. You will also be required to think strategically to ensure Manufacturing Operations is constantly working towards the future needs of the business through optimal utilisation of resources, monitoring annual budgets and delivering operational excellence.
