The Company:

Nigel Wright Supply Chain and Procurement Division are working with a global manufacturer to recruit a newly created Commodity Manager role to support strategic project and process improvement activity on site.

The Role:

Reporting into a Senior Category Manager, this unique role will provide the exciting opportunity to shape, define and implement sourcing strategy for support services on site with a long term aim of rolling out agreed contracts and supply agreements nationwide. The role will also support the Senior Category Manager to drive continuous improvement activity across Directs' categories.
Responsibilities will include:
  • 360 degree procurement of Indirect categories from sourcing through to supplier evaluation, contract drafting and contract award
  • Representing the Procurement Team upon cross functional continuous improvement projects (Direct and Indirect)
  • New supplier sourcing
  • Supplier negotiations/onboarding
  • Contract/supplier performance management

The Person:

The ideal candidate will have/be:
  • Proven category procurement experience materials/components or Indirects, ideally FM
  • Proven track record in delivering process improvements, efficiencies and cost reduction
  • Procurement experience from within Manufacturing beneficial
  • Strong stakeholder/supplier management - confident and commanding both internally and externally
  • Contract drafting experience essential
  • Accustomed to working within a fast-paced environment with ever changing priorities
  • Working knowledge of SAP beneficial not essential
  • Able to travel nationally and occasionally internationally
