This is a fantastic opportunity to join a very successful and leading fashion retail business as a Finance Manager.

The key purpose of this role is to take ownership for the monthly preparation of management accounts, cash management, accounts payable and accounts receivable.

This is an exciting and challenging role and will suit an experienced individual who is able to manage finance for a small business but who will also enjoy the challenges that working as part of a large plc business provides as this business sits within a larger organisation.

This is a full-time permanent position however applications will also be considered from candidates who are seeking a permanent part-time position working 4 days per week.

The role...
  • Preparation and ownership of monthly management accounts including profit and loss accounts and balance sheets
  • Preparation of monthly management information including variance analysis
  • Responsibility for group reporting submissions
  • Maintain general ledger (Sage)
  • Maintaining monthly intercompany balances and reconciling transactions
  • Maintaining daily, weekly and monthly balance sheet control accounts
  • Preparation and ownership of annual budgets and rolling forecasts
  • Preparation of weekly and monthly cash flow forecasts including currency requirements
  • Ownership of sales and Purchase Ledgers including customer debt collection
  • Setting up BACS payments (UK and International)
  • Reconcile UK and currency bank accounts
  • Calculation, presentation and payment of VAT
  • Preparation and submission of Intra Stat reports
  • Coordinate and supply payroll data to external payroll provider
  • Manage the fixed asset capital expenditure register
  • Reconciling retail and ecommerce sales transactions
  • Arranging credit insurance
  • Support the management team with timely financial information
  • Main point of contact for external auditors
  • Reviewing stock balances and working with sales team to ensure aged stock is being addressed
  • Advise on problems and suggest improvements
  • Other ad hoc duties as required

About you...
  • You will either be a fully or part-qualified accountant with experience gained within a similar role
  • Technically strong with a controls focus
  • Proficient at working with MS excel
  • Experienced in producing management accounts and working in credit control and purchase ledger
  • Competent in managing a general ledger (Sage experience preferred)
  • You'll have a high attention to detail and be a strong team player with ability to work on own initiative
  • Able to problem solve and communicate solutions clearly
  • Interested in branded goods and have a passion to succeed
