Adecco Poole and Bournemouth are delighted to be assisting one of our Large clients in their search for a Software Developer.

This role is a 6 month contract role.

The Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, maintaining, enhancing, testing and supporting software. They will have worked on projects through a complete software development lifecycle from inception to delivery.

  • Developing software
  • Reviewing relevant requirements, standards and other documentation to clarify and understand software engineering requirements
  • Provide estimates for modules under development, and estimate own work
  • Complete the development of software test requirements for modules under development
  • Execute software (unit and integration) tests
  • Present technical findings and developments
  • Adhere to the software quality process through the execution of module, subsystem and system test procedures
  • Analyse localisation requirements and designs/adapts products and solutions accordingly

The Ideal Candidate
  • Commercial experience developing systems that include both software and hardware/infrastructure elements
  • Have a natural flare for technology and be motivated to keep abreast of current trends
  • Experience in the entire project lifecycle
  • Educated to degree level or able to show relevant experience
  • Exposure to working in an agile environment
  • Be able to contribute to solutions architecture and liaise with the wider team on key decisions
  • Demonstrate technical leadership in software engineering
  • The ability to take ownership and strive to deliver the software projects and a strong desire to succeed

  • Plastic (source code management)
  • Java (1.7) (using Eclipse IDE)
  • net C# (visual studio 2017/2019)
  • JBoss EAP 6.4
  • Security, Encryption/Decrption - (Certificates, SSL etc)
  • Interfaces such as RESt, Http, Https (NIO)
  • XML and JSON
  • WSMQ Version 9.0
  • MySQL 5.6 onwards
  • Microsoft SQL Server
  • Ant (used for building and developing scripts)
  • Cron (used for performing backups)


£400-£450 a day DOE
