We are recruiting for a Director of Analytical Development to lead a large Analytical Development Group at a leading CDMO specialising in Biologics. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced scientific professional to manage a large team and push forward to conducting cutting edge and innovative science.

Responsibilities

Representation of the business unit on the Site Leadership Team

Instrumental in the development and planning stages of uncharted and complex research goals

Driving innovation programs to maintain and create the opportunity to offer leading edge technologies

Providing ongoing coaching, feedback and conducting performance reviews for direct reports

Responsible for setting annual goals and objectives for the long range planning of the business unit

Ensuring the overall goals and project milestones of the research, development, and innovation departments are achieved

Budget and acquisition responsibility of capital equipment for the business unit

Responsible for defining collaborative projects with internal and external links

New business development through the identification and application of technologies, partnerships or collaborations

Supporting sales and marketing activities to attract, secure and retain client programs

Review and calibration of performance and promotion recommendations for the business unit to ensure consistency and equity

Enhancement and maintenance of a reputation for excellence

Resolution of conflicts and removal of obstacles that stand in the way of accomplishing project goals and objectives

Coordination of project milestone requirements with CPL's

Requirements

10+ years' experience in Analytical Development

Continued management experience of a team

Strong Assay Development experience

Innovative attitude; an open minded approach to future developments into Automation and/or viral vaccines

Positive people skills, to maintain and increase the great team dynamic already present in the department

Strategic mind-set to identify issues early and support the team by understanding the science and solving potential problems
